Great bagels ! Service is great to eliminate long lines very organized ! The spreads are delicious and savory ! Highly recommend this place !
The BEST bagel shop ever! The bagels are flavorful and so very good! We enjoyed our food so much on Day 1 that we came here again for Breakfast on Day 2 of our trip. The lox, the cream cheese and the bagels were all above expectations! The service was prompt and accurate. The ambiance here is really cool too.. Boychik's makes their bagels on premises. Our LO loved watching the bagel production happening right in front of our eyes. I wish they had Boychik's in Los Angeles! Soooo goood!!!
Boichik is currently my favorite bagel in the Bay Area. I frequent both the Santa Clara and Berkeley location. My favorite bagel is the cinnamon raisin with the hatch chilies cream cheese or whatever is the season cream cheese flavor, which was currently sun dried tomato during this visit. They have a different version of bakers dozen- 12 bagels for the price of 11!
Not the biggest bagel fan, but I really liked the bagel sandwich I got from here. Was just walking around the area and wanted to try it. Weird set up of how to order. It seems like this was something developed in the COVID times and they just stuck with it. The procedure is you order from a worker sitting at a POS and then wait for them to call your name with your order. I got the daily special with the pumpernickel bagel. It was pretty good. I do not remember what was in the filling but it was delightful. Packed with filling though I was looking for more crunch. The pumpernickel is now my new favorite bagel flavor, usually get plain or just eat a cinnamon raisin if offered one. No available seating, but located on College so a lot of other businesses there to take up seating near Peet's Coffee. Street parking or can park in the Safeway parking lot (Yes, located on the top of Safeway). Fair pricing, would definitely go back if in the area again.
This is the best bagel that I have ever ate. Here, you could customize what you want on your bagel but they also have pre-made options as well if you don't know what to put on yours! There's no Indoor or outside seating so you are going to have to walk to the Pete's near by if you want to sit down. I got the everything bagel with nova lox, avocado, tomato, and cream cheese. This was pretty good! I also got the eggything bagel which tasted better than the refried everything bagel. This one had the nova lox and chive cream cheese. The chive cream cheese is really good and the salmon tasted super fresh. If I were to order again, I would get a eggything bagel with nova lox, chive cream cheese, and avocado. When I added the tomato, it was too overpowering, but the avocado worked well with the flavors and was worth the extra $2
Got there 30 minutes before closing & was greeted by a very friendly employee. I ordered the daily special on an eggything bagel. It was yummy, refreshing, and filling. They were generous with the cream cheese & I loved the bagel itself. One thing that surprised me about this spot is that there is no seating and it is for pick up only. Regardless, the service was super fast & I would return for more!
Love love love a good bagel !! The line was a little long but they are gENEROUS with the filling and the texture of the bagels are so good! They have a lot of different combos and bagel options to choose from. I personally always love some lox on a bagel! Parking is not toooo bad, I think there's a safeway nearby with some spots.
An essential Berkeley establishment! I love coming here with friends to grab a quick bite before walking around in the surrounding area. There's usually a line but it moves decently quickly. I do wish there was seating but it's also nice to grab a bagel to go and head to Philz for a coffee to accompany it. I always enjoy the bagels because they're perfectly chewy and have a great texture. There is a vast selection of bagels and spreads to choose from depending on your mood. My favorites include the whitefish spread, which is especially tasty and unique, in addition to the lox and tuna salad. Definitely worth stopping by if you're looking for a quality bagel!
My now husband and I were engaged the first year Boichik Bagels did their first run of heart-shaped bagels. The second year - we were married. And this year, their third year, we've got a little one. Not sure what's in their dough, lol, but hoping that next year is uneventful save for the heart-shaped bagels. I love that you can order ahead for pick-up and when it comes to the drinks, they don't start making them until you arrive. Now, this may not work for some on a time crunch, but it worked out well when our newborn was a little extra fussy the morning we did a pick-up and we ended up being 30 minutes late. Their bagels, lox, cream cheese, etc. are definitely pricier than what you'd get in the store, but the bagels are excellent and worth the splurge every once in a while. I can't always make the trek out to Berkeley or their other locations with baby in tow, but there is a growing list of grocery stores that carry the bagels and they can be delivered through services like Good Eggs, too!
I appreciate a truly exceptional bagel, and I feel like there's only a few non-East coast spots here in the East Bay that truly nail it..one of those being Boichik Bagels on College Ave. ~ with their bagel factory also located in Berkeley (a fun treat to see if you're a fan), they're expanding throughout the Bay Area & beyond. A winner of many bagel accolades already, Boichik is uniquely special and a must if on a Bay Area bagel tour or just searching for that perfect morning crunch. With flavor highlights like the Pumpernickel, Poppy, Garlic, Eggything (Egg - Everything), Salt & Pepper, and more, you will be transcended back to the West Coast. Cream cheese wise, the Hatch Chile, Lox Spread, and Horseradish Cheddar Scallion are among favorites. They also offer whitefish/egg/tuna salad and build your own bagel sandwich options with all the veggie/lox combinations you can dream of. I have to say it's hard for me not to waiver from my Chive cream cheese and onion bagel combo, but always looking forward to my next Boichik experience. Service at any location is always on point and to note, they offer amazing local coffee from Mother Tongue and for funsies, Chocolate Malt Coffees. They offer Kite Hill vegan cream cheese/gluten free grab n go options & Lox you can purchase and take with you (not sure about all locations other than College Ave.) All in all you can beat the freshness, the quality of ingredients, and the speciality of Boichik in itself. This is the kind of place that makes you do a little happy dance after the first bite, enjoy your first (or millionth) time!
